Care

BILLY PHAIN jewellery pieces are created to be worn.

Depending on how you wear and care for your jewellery, the piece will change over time. We love the natural patina that develops. Day after day, it reveals a new aspect of the piece’s beauty and history.

However, there are a few things you can do if you want to keep your jewellery in perfect condition for longer.

Wear

We love when a jewellery piece develops a natural patina through wear. But if you’re worried about damage, here are a few tips:

  • Some chemicals in cosmetics may damage or discolour a piece, so it’s best to apply makeup and fragrance first then put on your piece.

  • Your piece will probably end up with impact dents and scratches if you wear it while playing sports, so consider leaving it your jewellery in your gym bag.

  • Handling corrosive materials, like when you’re in the garden or cleaning up, will likely have some negative effect on the appearance of your jewellery, so maybe take your pieces off (but remember where you put them!)

Storage

There’s something aesthetically pleasing about a pile of jewels scattered nonchalantly over a surface in your bedroom. But appreciate that one piece of jewellery can scratch another, so sometimes it’s best to store and transport each piece separately.

No matter where you store your jewellery, save yourself a headache and always close your chain clasps to prevent knots.

Care

To preserve and enhance shine, regularly rub your jewellery with a soft cloth.

You can clean jewellery with warm water and a soft brush. To avoid tarnishing, dry the piece by gently dabbing with an absorbent, non-pilling cloth. You can follow this advice anytime your piece ends up wet.
